TDE has welcomed a new member to the family, Zacari.

Taking to Twitter, Top Dawg Entertainment made the official announcement: “Introducing our newest signee to the Roster @zacarip.”

The Bakersfield, Calif. singer, who describes his sound as a “mix of psychedelic and trill,” made waves with his appearance on “LOVE.” off Kendrick Lamar’s Grammy-winning album DAMN.

To celebrate the signing, Zacari dropped his debut single, “Don’t Trip.” Produced by J-Louis and Teddy Walton, the laid-back track is a taste of what’s to come from his upcoming debut EP.

“The whole theme of this project I’m working on is the happier side of loneliness,” he told Billboard in 2017. “It’s just a brighter side of loneliness. I know that there are a lot of people that, when they’re alone, they can’t handle it. But this is about not being so dependent on others and other things, and being able to be happy when you’re by yourself, when you’re in your own head, and when you’re in your own thoughts.”

In addition to appearing on the 4x platinum “LOVE.” Zacari can be heard on “Redemption” off Black Panther: The Album, and has collaborated with his fellow TDE artists including Ab-Soul (“RAW (backwards)”) and Isaiah Rashad (“Wat’s Wrong”).

Zacari joins the TDE roster, which also includes SZA, Jay Rock, Reason, Lance Skiiiwalker, and SiR.
