Three months after her passing, Kim Porter’s cause of death has been revealed.
Porter, the mother of Diddy’s children, died from a form of pneumonia, according to the L.A. County Coroner’s office (via TMZ). The cause of death is listed as lobar pneumonia, an inflammation of an entire lobe of the lungs.
The actress-model was found dead in her Toluca Lake, Calif. home on Nov. 15 at the age of 47. Sources close to Kim say that she was battling the flu and complained she wasn’t feeling well the night before she was pronounced dead.
During Porter’s funeral in her hometown of Columbus, Ga., in late November, Diddy paid tribute to his soulmate. “There’s some people in your life that’s gonna be irreplaceable,” he said. “Kim, we gon’ miss you so much. But I ain’t gon’ miss you too much ’cause I’m not gon’ let your voice inside of me stop talking.”
He also vowed to take care of their kids. “Your mother instilled in me this…That I pledge in front of everybody right now that I will always be there for y’all,” said Diddy. “I’ll always take care of you. To the girls especially, we about to enter some different type of times. I want y’all to be able to talk to me about everything, and I mean everything…and I mean everything.”
Porter and Diddy began dating in 1994 and their relationship ended in 2007. They had three children—twin girls Jessie James and D’Lila and son Christian—together. Porter also has a son, Quincy, from her relationship with Al B. Sure!
