Just hours after debuting the song, The Weeknd and Gesaffelstein join forces in the video for their collaboration “Lost in the Fire.”
Directed by Manu Cossu, the dark and sleek clip finds the Canadian crooner on an all-black set. Donning all black, Abel shows off some slick moves alongside his French collaborator, who is disguised in glossy black paint. As Abel performs on the minimalistic backdrop, Gesaffelstein eerily looms behind him.
The song has raised eyebrows for a line that some say is a shot at Drake, who fathered a secret son. “And I just want a baby with the right one / ‘Cause I could never be the one to hide one,” sings The Weeknd as he covers his face with his hand.
“Lost in the Fire” is the second single off Gesaffelstein’s upcoming sophomore album, Hyperion. It follows his previous collaborations with The Weeknd off last year’s My Dear Melancholy, EP.
