Lil Wayne kicked off the new year with a performance during the College Football Playoff National Championship halftime show in San Francisco on Monday night (Jan. 7).
Weezy joined Imagine Dragons to debut the remix to the band’s hit “Believer.” The Young Money boss breathes fire on his triumphant guest verse, which was later released to streaming services.
“First thing’s first / Can you imagine what’s about to happen?” raps Tunechi. “It’s Weezy the Dragon, I link with the Dragons / And we gon’ get ratchet, no need for imaginin’.”
Weezy also performed his Carter V single “Uproar,” but it was his outfit that stole the show. He rocked a black and white fuzzy coat over a smiley face T-shirt and red pants tucked into knee-high boots. He completed the look with a scarf, Gucci gloves, bedazzled sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat.
The bizarre wardrobe choice spawned a series of comical reactions on Twitter, with some comparing Tunechi to the Hamburglar and SpongeBob SquarePants.
