Kanye West is assembling an all-star team of talent for Yandhi.
According to TMZ, the G.O.O.D. Music boss has been in Miami recording his highly-anticipated album with heavy-hitters including Lil Wayne, Migos, Timbaland, and 2 Chainz, as well as Tee Grizzley and YNW Melly.
Part of Kanye’s decision to record in Miami is because he has a new crib there. He surprised his wife Kim Kardashian with a $14 million condo for Christmas. The lavish South Beach pad is located in the exclusive beachfront tower Faena House, dubbed “Billionaire Beach Bunker.”
Kanye was originally eyeing a September release date for Yandhi, but pushed the album back to Black Friday, Nov. 23. The project was again delayed because Kanye was still recording.
Taking to Twitter after his performance with Kid Cudi at Tyler, the Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in November, he announced the setback. “It felt so good being on the stage last night with my brother Cudi,” tweeted Kanye. “After performing again, I realize the new album I’ve been working on isn’t ready yet. I’ll announce the release date once it’s done. Thank you for understanding.”
During an early listening for the album in September, Kanye previewed collaborations with 6ix9ine and the late XXXTentacion, as well as Ty Dolla $ign, who is featured on multiple tracks. Nicki Minaj is also featured on a song about body shaming.
Yandhi marks the follow-up to last year’s ye, which became Kanye’s eighth No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
