Sean “Diddy” Combs offered a heartfelt tribute to Kim Porter during her funeral on Saturday (Nov. 24).

During his 15-minute eulogy at Cascade Hills Church in Porter’s hometown of Columbus, Georgia, the hip-hop mogul shared how the mother of his children taught him how to love. He revealed that he was battling depression earlier this year and Kim helped comfort him and get him back on his feet.

“At the top of the year, I was going through a real dark time. I was really depressed,” said Puff. “She was just like, ‘C’mon, Puff. You gotta get up. You gotta get up out the bed. You gotta get moving.'”

Diddy went on to describe their evolving relationship “from being boyfriend and girlfriend to being lovers to being best friends to being just straight up homies.”

He also made a promise to his kids Justin, Christian, D’Lila, Jessie James, and the “man of the house” Quincy. “Your mother instilled in me this…That I pledge in front of everybody right now that I will always be there for y’all,” added Diddy. “I’ll always take care of you. To the girls especially, we about to enter some different type of times. I want y’all to be able to talk to me about everything, and I mean everything…and I mean everything.”

Diddy thanked everyone for their love and prayers, and offered some touching final words to his soulmate. “There’s some people in your life that’s gonna be irreplaceable,” he said. “Kim, we gon’ miss you so much. But I ain’t gon’ miss you too much ’cause I’m not gon’ let your voice inside of me stop talking.”

After the service, mourners including Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, Usher, Lil’ Kim, Faith Evans, Diddy’s mother Janice Combs, and Kimora Lee Simmons gathered at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Porter was buried in a gold casket next to her mother, who died in 2014. Pink fireworks were set off in her honor.

Porter, 47, was found dead at her L.A. home on Nov. 15. The cause of death is still pending from an autopsy that was performed.
