Thousands of residents have fled their homes as wildfires swept over a large part of Southern California on Friday (Nov. 9).
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s home in the gated community of Hidden Hills was among those in danger. The flames were reportedly on the property of their multi-million-dollar estate, but did not reach the main house. The entire community has been evacuated, along with other nearby areas.
“I heard the flames have hit our property at our home in Hidden Hills but now are more contained and have stopped at the moment,” tweeted Kim. “It doesn’t seems like it is getting worse right now, I just pray the winds are in our favor. God is good. I’m just praying everyone is safe.”
A grateful Kim also thanked the firefighters for their help. “Fire Fighters, I love you and thank you for doing all that you can to keep us safe!” she added.
Kim’s stepfather Caitlyn Jenner wasn’t as fortunate. Her Malibu home, which is perched atop a ridge overlooking the Malibu beach area, burned down in the Woolsey fire.
Other famous residents in the area include The Game and Lil Pump, whose Calabasas homes were also in danger, but Game planned to stay and guard his property. “I can’t abandon the fort tho !!!! Gotta hold it down,” he said.
The wildfires rage on and have burned over 14,000 acres, spreading through the hills and canyons above the Pacific Ocean. No part of the fire is currently under control, according to the L.A. County Fire Department.
