Yeezus becomes Yandhi.
Kanye West has announced what appears to be his new album Yandhi. After teasing a potential sequel to 2013’s Yeezus, the rapper revealed the title and release date for his next project, inspired by Gandhi.
“YANDHI 9 29 18,” he wrote alongside the cover art, which resembles the artwork for Yeezus with a blank CD in a plastic jewel case and purple tape.
A Sept. 29 release date would coincide with Kanye’s performance on the season premiere of “SNL.” Earlier this month, he dropped his new single “I Love It” with Lil Pump, which debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
On Monday (Sept. 17), Kanye also confirmed his joint album with Chance the Rapper, Good Ass Job. “Me and Chance working on a new album,” he announced on stage at Chance’s OpenMike Chicago event. “It’s called Good Ass Job.”
If that wasn’t enough, he also teased Watch the Throne 2, a sequel to his 2011 collaborative album with JAY-Z. However, it’s unclear if JAY-Z will be involved.
Yandhi arrives less than four months after the release of ye, which became Kanye’s eighth No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
