Nicki Minaj is breaking her silence on her fight with Cardi B.
Following her confrontation with the “Bodak Yellow” rapper at New York Fashion Week on Friday (Sept. 8), the Queen rapper took to the airwaves on Monday’s episode of Queen Radio on Beats 1 to tell her side of the “humiliating” story.
Cardi reportedly ran up on Nicki at the annual Harper’s Bazaar ICONS party and threw a shoe in her direction. Cardi was escorted out of the building by security with one shoe on her foot and a lump on her forehead.
“The other night I was a part of something so mortifying and so humiliating,” Nicki told listeners. “I could not believe how humiliated it all felt.”

Following the incident, Cardi posted a message on Instagram, seemingly aimed at Nicki. In the post, she claims the person tried to sabotage her career and spoke ill about her daughter, Kulture Kiari. But Nicki denied that she ever took shots at Cardi’s child.
“I would never discuss anyone’s child and it’s so sad for someone to pin that on me ’cause I’m the bad guy and they know people would believe them,” she said. “I would never talk about anyone’s child or parenting…It’s so crazy to me that people always need to make Onika the bad guy…I just wanna let the world know that Onika Tanya Maraj would never, has never, and will never speak ill of anyone’s child. I am not a clown. That’s clown shit.”
She also took aim at Cardi’s success. “She has built her career off of sympathy and payola,” said Nicki.
She also played a 2017 interview clip of Cardi saying that “nothing was off limits,” even when talking about people’s children. “I am my mother’s kid. Nothing is off limits,” she told The FADER.
During the episode, Nicki called up a woman who claims Cardi called her deceased child a “monkey” on social media in 2014 after she left a comment on Cardi’s Instagram page.
“She called your child a monkey. Your dead child…and said if you haven’t been doing some nonsense, you wouldn’t have lost your child,” said Nicki. “I just wanted to hear it from your mouth because, you know, so very often, I let people do a lot of bullshit talking about me and people around the world believe it. But they don’t know what type of disgusting pig this person is.”
She continued, “She refers to black women as monkeys and roaches…but these are the women going hard for her, the roaches, when the lights come on.”
She also brought up Offset’s alleged cheating and the claims that Cardi hired men to assault the women he allegedly cheated with. “There are two beautiful women right now, who have been accused of whoever they slept with, and so they were allegedly attacked and are cut up everywhere, but not by women, men! You’re sending men to beat on women.
“Offset could do what he wants to do and it’s none of my business, but it becomes my business when you’re spreading false rumors about me,” she continued. “How do people who be claiming to be so real be doing the most fraud shit? This is unfair, this is disgusting. Let me tell you what won’t change, who he is, and his actions. I have no beef with Offset, but I have to be a voice for these women.”
She also insinuated that Cardi may have postpartum depression. “Let’s get up a 1-800 number for postpartum depression. It’s nothing to joke about. You just had the biggest blessing of your life with a child, and in two weeks you have attacked three women—one at Fashion Week.
“You came into my fucking culture. I never had to f**k a DJ to play my songs,” she added. “This woman is at the best stage in her career and she’s out here throwing bottles and throwing shoes. Who the fuck is gonna give her a fuckin’ intervention? Get the fuck outta here with this bullshit.”
Plus, she issued a strong warning to her rival. “You put your hands on certain people, you ‘gon die. Period!” she said. “I’m not the bitches in the strip club and I’m not a bitch on a reality show. My money is very fu**ing long too.”
Nicki’s advice for Cardi? “You gotta get thick skin, baby girl,” she said. “If you give all these people all this power over you, they’re always gonna push your buttons…be happy with your blessings!”
