After winning over fans and critics with his latest album Redemption, Jay Rock is already plotting the follow-up.

During adidas’ Destination San Diego music experience earlier this month, the TDE rapper revealed that he may release a new project before the year is up.

“I’ve been thinking about that every day,” he told Rap-Up. “I’m ready to get back in the studio now… Ever since the big reviews on Redemption, I’m ready to go back in and just come with another project right now before the year is up. Hopefully, man, y’all might get that.”

He’s been feeding off the positive response to Redemption, which was released in June and spawned the hit single “WIN,” plus collaborations with Kendrick Lamar, SZA, J. Cole, Future, and Jeremih.

“It’s just giving me more motivation and inspiration to keep doing what I do,” added Rock. “I’ve been doing it for a long time. For those who’ve been rocking with me since day one and for those that’s new that’s been rooting for me, I appreciate it. That’s what’s keeping me going. It’s just giving me the fire and the flames to keep pushing.”

But first, Rock will kick off his “Big Redemption Tour” on Sept. 12 in Lawrence, Ky. The 29-date trek travels across the U.S. and Canada, with stops in Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, Atlanta, Dallas, and Seattle, wrapping Oct. 29 in Los Angeles.

So what can fans expect? “A lot of energy and a lot of good times and good vibes.”
