Post Malone capped off the VMAs like a true “rockstar.”
Wearing a smiley face-printed suit, the platinum hitmaker opened his set with his chart-topping smash before 21 Savage delivered his verse.
Posty then joined the original rockstars, Aerosmith, for a surprise mashup performance. As he played guitar, Steven Tyler performed part of “Dream On.” They came together for another classic, “Toys in the Attic,” including some guitar smashing by Joe Perry.

Posty also went home with the first-ever award for Song of the Year for “rockstar.” “You go to bed and you dream about maybe winning and then whenever you get up here you don’t remember what the hell to say,” he said while accepting with Savage. “Honestly, in a hundred million years I would never expect to do this ever, so this is sick. So thank you so much.”
Post Malone recently announced Travis Scott as a headliner for his inaugural Posty Fest, which is set to take place Oct. 28 at Dallas’ Dos Equis Pavilion in his homestate of Texas.
