The Real is back. J. Cole feeds the streets with a new freestyle and video for “Album of the Year.”

Over Nas & Bravehearts’ “Oochie Wally” instrumental, the Dreamville boss raps about buying the Mavericks in 10 years and calls out his younger peers. “Lil rappers, I love you, but you ain’t shit till you got offers in Prague,” he raps.

He also boasts about his flow (“I’m the answer on the low / I’m a cheat sheet for rappers / I came around AC to DC adaptors”) and declares KOD the “album of the year, undebatably.” “My cadence be the greatest we’ve seen since the late MC, whose name was the Notorious,” he proclaims.

Along with the song, Cole also teased a mixtape called The Off-Season, which he plans to release before his next album The Fall Off. “What you are about to witness is a master class on preparation,” he writes in the video intro.

Cole will kick off his “KOD Tour” with Young Thug and Jaden Smith on Thursday (Aug. 9) in Miami.
