Bobby Shmurda is eyeing a 2020 homecoming.
The 23-year-old Brooklyn rapper, born Ackquille Jean Pollard, revealed that he is set to be released from prison in late 2020.
In a phone interview with ThisIs50, Shmurda, who is currently serving a seven-year sentence for conspiracy and weapons possession, confirmed the news.
“I got two years left,” said the “Hot Boy.” “2020, I’m coming out and fucking everything up.”
He also praised artists including NBA YoungBoy, Gunna, and Lil Baby, while clearing up rumors of beef with fellow Brooklyn rapper 6ix9ine. “It ain’t no beef, no problems,” he said. “I’ve been hearing a whole bunch of crazy shit. … First of all, I seen all the colors in the hair and all that crazy shit, I started laughing.”
But he doesn’t fault Tekashi for his controversial artistry. “This is entertainment,” he added. “Motherfuckers wanna paint their hair pink, fuck it, paint their hair pink.”
Shmurda is currently serving time at New York’s Clinton Correctional Facility after pleading guilty to one count of third-degree conspiracy and one count of weapons possession in 2016. Last week, his mother shared new photos of her son on Instagram and provided an update on his situation.
“He is maintaining great spirits and will be home before you know it,” she told fans.
