He may not be releasing an album this week, but Chance the Rapper surprises his fans with four new tracks.
The songs, which are available to stream on all digital platforms, include “I Might Need Security,” “Work Out,” “65th & Ingleside,” and “Wala Cam” featuring Supa Bwe.
They mark the first new music from the Chicago MC since last year’s Merry Christmas Lil’ Mama: Re-Wrapped, an extended version of his collaborative mixtape with Jeremih.
According to the Chicago Tribune, Chance was set to release an entire album this week to coincide with the Special Olympics 50th Anniversary Celebration Concert, but his plans seemingly changed.
“Sorry no album this week, def been in the stu tho,” he tweeted earlier in the week.
In addition to his album, Chance is working with Kanye West on a 7-track project. The two started recorded in Wyoming and Kanye plans to come to Chicago to finish it.
On Saturday (July 21), Chance will headline and produce the Special Olympics 50th Anniversary Celebration Concert with Usher, Francis & The Lights, Daya, Smokey Robinson, and Jason Mraz, which will be held in Chicago.
