Mac Miller gears up for his new album Swimming with some “Self Care.”
The rapper drops a dark and symbolic video for his new single, which finds him locked in a wood coffin. But he doesn’t seem to be panicked. With flashlight in hand, he tries to escape. He removes his shoe and lights a cigarette before pulling out a knife and carving “Momento Mori” (Latin for “Remember you must die”) into the lid.
“Self care, I’m treating me right,” he raps as he puffs from the cigarette. “Hell yeah, we gonna be alright.”
Mac then punches a hole through the coffin before making his way through a mound of dirt. But his next battle awaits in the form of an explosion that sends him flying. In the end, he manages to emerge unscathed from the blast.
Mac’s new album Swimming, the follow-up to 2016’s The Divine Feminine, drops Aug. 3. He has revealed the cover art and tracklisting for the 13-track set, which features songs including “Come Back to Earth,” “Perfecto,” and “Jet Fuel.”
