Let there be light. Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj have another collaboration on the way.
In anticipation of her upcoming album Sweetener, the pop princess shared a snippet of her new single “The Light Is Coming” featuring Minaj. A short video clip finds her lip-syncing to the track, which features a verse from Minaj and Grande singing the lyrics: “The light is coming to get back everything the darkness stole.”
Nicki responded on Twitter, quoting her verse: “Can’t let a EFF boy EFF up my nice vibez! Yo Ariana come lemme gih u a high 5!!!!!!!!”
There is also speculation that Drake may be featured on the song. Ariana commented on Nicki’s Instagram post in defense of Drake, leaving the lightbulb emoji, to which Nicki and Drake both responded with the same emoji.
This is not Ari and Nicki’s first collaboration. The two previously teamed up on The Pinkprint‘s “Get On Your Knees,” Dangerous Woman‘s “Side to Side,” and the Jessie J-assisted “Bang Bang,” which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
“The Light Is Coming” was also teased at the end of Ariana’s Billboard Music Awards performance, when the screen flashed the song title. It arrives ahead of her fourth album Sweetener, due July 20. The album, which features production from Pharrell and Max Martin, has already spawned the top 10 hit “No Tears Left to Cry.”
