Cardi B celebrates a wedding and a funeral in the video for her Invasion of Privacy single “Be Careful.”
Shot in the desert, the Jora Frantzis-directed clip is a warning about what happens when you mess with Cardi. In the opening scene, the Bronx rapper drags a cross through the desert before a blonde Cardi appears on her wedding day in a small church. While the bride stands at the alter next to her husband-to-be, she sings lyrics about infidelity.
But soon the all-white affair turns into a funeral as Cardi, dressed in all black, pulls up to the same church for her man’s funeral. As she looks into his casket, she offers some parting words: “You nothin’ like the ni**a I met / You make me sick, ni**a.” She then gets in her car and rides off into the sunset.
After deactivating her Instagram account earlier this month, Cardi returned to social media to speak about the video shoot. “It was one of the hardest videos I ever did because it was in the desert, like in the middle of nowhere, and bitch I was so hot,” she said. “My pregnant motherfuckin’ ass. I never sweat, and I was sweatin’ that day, like my underarm was sweating, under my titties. I never get under titty sweat, but that day, for sure.”
“Be Careful,” which has been certified gold, is the latest single off Cardi’s debut to receive a visual. The rapper, who is expecting her first child with Offset this summer, will return to the road with Bruno Mars on his “24K Magic World Tour” this September.
