Fat Joe is just trying to make his “Momma” proud. The Terror Squad boss taps Big Sean and Dre (of Cool & Dre) for a new Mother’s Day anthem.
Over a soulful instrumental, Don Cartagena reflects on his family. Referencing his son’s autism and his mother’s battle with cancer, Joey Crack details traumatic incidents. “My momma was there when a ni**a was shot,” he raps. “All I had was my momma / Always bringing the drama / Had to deal with the trauma.”
While Dre handles the chorus, Sean Don celebrates his own mom by reflecting on his past. “When I got hit with them sexual assault charges, on some fraud shit,” he raps. “On the news, you and grandma saw it / It broke my heart the hardest / I almost lost all it, friends stopped callin’ / But you was right there with me ballin’ / I cried too, you said the truth gon’ come out / Next thing you know, they dropped all the charges.”
Joey Crack is coming off the release of his Dre-assisted single “Pick It Up.” Prior to that, he also joined forces with Dre on “So Excited.” Meanwhile, Sean is currently working on his next album and he recently partnered with Rémy Martin and DJ Mustard for “The Co-Sign.”
