It’s a girl! Amid speculation over her baby’s gender, Cardi B made the revelation while getting ready for the Met Gala.

During an interview with The New York Times, Cardi disclosed the gender while explaining what her dress felt like. “Extremely heavy,” she said. “The beading is just crazy, and then, shorty weighs three and a half pounds. She do. She do weigh three-and-a-half pounds. That’s pretty good for seven months, right? Because I was born five pounds.”

In April, Bardi’s sister Hennessy actually revealed the news first on social media. At the time time, she said that she wanted to “give her all the kisses and hugs.” Later, she edited the caption to use gender-neutral language. But it seemed too late.

Bardi hinted at the baby’s sex in other interviews, but wouldn’t confirm either way. When asked if she was having a boy or girl, the Bronx bombshell remained coy. “It’s a gangsta,” she told “The Breakfast Club.”

Elsewhere in the Times piece, Cardi revealed that Offset was supposed to walk the Met Gala red carpet with her before Versace intervened. Offset walked the carpet with his Migos brothers Quavo and Takeoff, while Moschino’s Jeremy Scott wound up being her date instead.

“It’s like, if y’all got so much people going with y’all, y’all could have just let him walk with me and take the two boys,” she said, referring to Versace’s other guests like Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian West, and Tom Brady. “That’s why my baby ain’t never gonna stand out,” she added.

This will be Cardi B and Offset’s first child together. Offset has three children from previous relationships.
