Kodak Black gets a name change. While the Pompano Beach rapper will still have his famous stage moniker, he’s legally changing his government name.
Born Dieuson Octave, the 20-year-old MC’s new name is Bill K. Kapri. His attorney Bradford Cohen tells TMZ that it’s intended to give him a “fresh start” following a string of legal issues.
In addition to this, authorities dropped a child services investigation against him. The agency started the inquiry after his January arrest when his child was found in a home with marijuana and gun ammunition.
Bill is currently serving time in jail over probation violations and could be out by October. In the meantime, he is reportedly working towards his GED and taking parenting classes.
Despite legal issues, Bill keeps releasing new music. On Valentine’s Day, Kodak unleashed his latest project, Heart Break Kodak.
