Rae Sremmurd will slide through May with a new album. The “Powerglide” duo will release their long-awaited third album S3MM featuring a group effort and two solo projects early next month.
Taking to Twitter, Swae Lee confirmed a May 4 release date. “Our album SR3MM officially drops on 5/4,” he wrote. “With side chapters SwaeCation & Jxmtroduction.”
Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee have been on a single releasing spree. So far, they’ve dropped the Juicy J-assisted “Powerglide,” “Hurt to Look,” “Brxnks Truck,” “Guatemala,” and “Close” featuring Travis Scott from the triple disc.
Last month, they promised the album would be worth the wait. “It’s the best music we’ve ever made,” said Swae. “Of course we’ve still got SremmLife 1 and 2 flavor, but we’re giving y’all shit y’all never heard from Rae Sremmurd before.”
“We wanted to give y’all something different,” added Jxmmi. “Because it’s one side saying, ‘Man, this person should go solo,’ so why don’t we just end the argument and give it to you, and then give you Rae Sremmurd so you can see why we are Rae Sremmurd and who we are as individuals.”
SR3MM is also set to feature appearances from The Weeknd, Future, Young Thug, Pharrell Williams, and Zoë Kravitz.
