There are new developments in Fabolous’ ongoing domestic abuse case.
Last month, the Brooklyn rapper was arrested on charges of aggravated assault and making terroristic threats involving his longtime girlfriend Emily Bustamante. Now, there is reportedly a delay in the proceedings.
Shortly before he was scheduled to face the judge on Wednesday (April 18), Fabolous’ legal team asked the courts for the delay. The judge obliged. Now, the Def Jam rapper has three weeks before he’s scheduled to return to court in May. There was no reason given for the request, according to Bossip.
Bustamante reportedly claims Fabolous was abusive. She alleges that he punched her multiple times, injuring her mouth to the point that she needed to have teeth removed.
A video fueled speculation about abuse. Shortly after Bustamante’s original complaints were publicized, a clip showing Fab arguing with Bustamante and her father surfaced. Holding a sharp object in his hand, the rapper tells his father-in-law that he has a bullet with his name on it.
Fabolous and Bustamante also have two sons together, Johan, 10, and Jonas, 2. The rapper has yet to directly address the allegations. He faces three-to-five years in prison on the aggravated assault charge, as per the report.
