Kodak Black could be out of jail by October, according to several reports.
On Tuesday (April 17), the Pompano Beach rapper received good and bad news in his ongoing legal fight. First, charges of marijuana and gun possession were dropped. So were charges of neglecting a child.
Black, whose home was raided in January, admitted to driving with a suspended license and associating with people engaged in criminal activity, according to TMZ. Both are probation violations, but he will be credited for time served.
As a result of these developments, Kodak could be released in October on good behavior. The report indicates that he will no longer need to serve another year of house arrest or four years of probation.
Project Baby’s attorney Bradford Cohen considers this a victory. “Kodak [and I] are extremely happy to resolve this case with an excellent resolution,” he said. “It was very nice to deal with a fair judge who understood the circumstances — along with prosecutors.”
Police raided Kodak’s home and arrested the rapper in January. He initially faced about 12 years in jail before numerous charges were dropped.
