Drake is breaking major records while crafting his newest album.
Over the weekend, the Toronto MC posted a photo of himself on Instagram Stories with a telling caption. “You can see the album hours under my eyes,” he wrote on the flick, which shows him holding a toothpick in his mouth.
Drizzy has been teasing the new album for months. In March, he dedicated the forthcoming effort to his hometown of Toronto. “I’m happy to be home,” he said. “I’m working on this new album for the city.”
As usual, Drake remains coy. Although no guests have been confirmed officially, he’s reportedly been collaborating with Pi’erre Bourne, Bad Bunny, London On Da Track, and his longtime right-hand man Noah “40” Shebib. Last month, he revealed plans to drop a Murda Beatz-produced single.
While Drake spends long nights in the studio, he continues to make waves with Scary Hours. He’s the first male soloist to have two 10-week No. 1s on the Billboard Hot 100, thanks to “God’s Plan,” according to Billboard.
“God’s Plan” and “One Dance” (featuring WizKid and Kyla) both reigned at No. 1 for 10 weeks. The former smash could continue its streak next week. It currently holds 10 of the top 23 best streaming weeks of all time, and it’s still going strong.
The 6 God released “God’s Plan” along with “Diplomatic Immunity” on January’s Scary Hours. By February, he released the song’s viral video, in which he donates close to $1 million to Miami folks in need.
