Jacquees is gearing up for a big year. The Cash Money star recently stopped by Rap-Up HQ to discuss his debut album, big-name collaborations, and his highly-anticipated joint project with Chris Brown.

On the solo tip, the 23-year-old heartthrob is confidently crafting his debut 4275, which was inspired by his upbringing. “This is my best work to date, and the title is just super special,” he says. “[4275] was my address, where I started singing at, where I won my first talent show at, that’s where I learned everything. I want everybody to hear that.”

He’s collaborated with Breezy, Trey Songz, Young Thug, Jermaine Dupri, Birdman, Donell Jones, and Xscape’s LaTocha Scott to craft what he calls a “classic.” “The music is timeless,” he adds. “It’s classic. It feels good. You can play it in the morning, middle of the day, or night for the rest of your life. I’m very confident. If this was my last work, I would stand on it.”

Up next, Jacquees plans to release a video for his next single “Inside” with Trey Songz, who inspired him “to go harder.” Another inspiration is Young Thug. “We got so many songs,” he reveals. “But the record we got on my album is super special. It’s called ‘Studio.'”

Jacquees has also been in the studio with Chris Brown working on their eagerly-awaited joint effort. “Me and Chris project is R&B,” he explains. “We wanted to make R&B. Chris got other projects that he’s working on now where he’s doing a lot of rapping and giving you all types of flavor, but on this one, he really wanted to sing and go at it. He was like, ‘We’re gonna kill ’em with this R&B.'”
