It’s a family affair. 2 Chainz, YG, and Offset turn up with their mamas in the video for “Proud,” their collaboration off 2 Chainz’s EP The Play Don’t Care Who Makes It.
In the clip, directed by 2 Chainz and Howard Ross, the rhyming triumvirate delivers winning verses, but it’s their mothers who steal the show. Each mom performs her son’s bars, while dressed like their famous offspring. Mama Chainz is decked out in Gucci, YG’s mama reps 4Hunnid in a red bandana, and Offset’s mother stacks her cash. They come together at the end for a final scene in front of a burnt down trap house.
“I decided to let our moms shine in this video,” explained 2 Chainz, whose EP The Play Don’t Care Who Makes dropped in February.
Up next, 2 Chainz is prepping his full-length album, Rap or Go to the League, the follow-up to last year’s Pretty Girls Like Trap Music.
