Rich the Kid has the world in his hands. Just days before releasing his debut album, The World Is Yours, the eccentric MC shares his plans for domination.
“The World Is Yours is definitely one of the greatest albums of the year,” he tells Rap-Up. “I’m shooting for Grammys.”
If he’s looking for success, he’s certainly in good company. The album features heavyweights including Kendrick Lamar, Lil Wayne, Future, Rick Ross, Chris Brown, Quavo, Khalid, Offset, Swae Lee, and Trippie Redd, among others.
Lil Uzi Vert, however, is not on the album. Instead, he is the inspiration behind the scathing diss track “Dead Friends.” Where will their beef go from here? That remains unclear. “I doubt [he’ll respond],” says Rich. “Not on the music level. I’m really not looking for him to respond.”
Although he hasn’t released the new LP yet, Rich the Kid already has another one in the stash. “I already have another album ready, like halfway done,” he explains. “Whatever is not on the album, y’all gonna hear real soon.”
Kanye West and Frank Ocean may appear on that album, but Rich the Kid is staying coy—for now. “You’re just gonna have to wait and see,” he teases.
The World Is Yours is due Friday (March 30).
