The wait is almost over. Tinashe is finally ready to release her long-awaited sophomore album Joyride.
The R&B songstress has revealed an April 13 release date along with the cover art, which finds her mostly silhouetted in shadows, standing elegantly in front of an all white background. She appears to be wearing a futuristic robotic jetpack with giant spikes emanating from her back.
Understanding her fans’ patience with this album, Tinashe added a knowing caption to the mysterious art. “The wait is over,” she wrote. “JOYRIDE 4-13.”
The news follows anInstagram comment that Tinashe left for a fan, revealing that the album would, in fact, be released in April.
After teasing the album for years, Tinashe opened up about her excitement last year, during an interview with Rap-Up. “It’s going to come out when it comes out,” she said. “I’m just excited to continue to release new material. I have a lot of new music and I’m really excited about that. It’s all good things.”
Joyride, the follow-up to her 2014 debut Aquarius, has already spawned the singles “No Drama” featuring Offset and the Future-assisted “Faded Love.”
