NAV doesn’t care about the “Freshman List.” To prove that, the producer-turned-rapper drops his latest single, which says he wouldn’t pay the XXL distinction any mind.
“I was made for this shit, rookie of the year,” he raps. “I wouldn’t show up for the freshman list / Your swag expired, you ain’t fresh like this / Shit on all my haters, I’ma make ’em pissed.”
Later, he details his rise from production to center stage. “Got a lot of problems that I handle on my own / Remember making beats and feeling stuck inside my home,” he raps. “And now when I come home, I’m fucking every bitch I know.”
“Freshman List” is another buzz single from the Perfect Timing rapper, who also dropped “Wanted You” with Lil Uzi Vert in November. A video for the track followed in January.
To go along with the single, NAV announced dates for his “Freshman Tour,” his first headlining North American trek, set to run from April 24 in Santa Ana, Calif. through May 23 in Detroit.
