No more drama. Mary J. Blige and her estranged husband Martin “Kendu” Isaacs have finally reached a settlement in their divorce case.
Blige and Isaacs were slated to begin their divorce trial today (March 5) in Los Angeles, but it was called off because the former couple struck a deal on Friday (March 2), as per TMZ.
The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul filed for divorce in July 2016 and Isaacs asked for six figures in spousal support. A public quarrel ensued, with Mary declaring her hatred on Twitter.
“F*ck @Kenduisaacs,” she wrote. “I f*cking hate him and his whole family. I unfollowed him on IG & ALL of my fans need 2.”
She went on to speak about the divorce in various interviews and on her latest album, Strength of a Woman. “It really is not getting better,” she said at one time. “It’s just more bullshit, more nonsense, more lies, more denial, more stupidity.”
Yesterday, Blige performed “Mighty River” at the 90th Annual Academy Awards, where she was nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role and Best Original Song for her work in Mudbound.
