Fresh off his new EP The Play Don’t Care Who Makes It, 2 Chainz has announced his fifth solo studio album, Rap or Go to the League.

Following last year’s Pretty Girls Like Trap Music, the project aims to tackle some serious and topical issues, according to the host of Viceland’s “Most Expensivest” series.

“With the height of racial tensions in America, felt I should do my part in explaining some of the brain washing formulas used in my community,” said 2 Chainz. “this next album not only touches on those who did succeed thru entertainment but those who didn’t!”

Tity Boi unveiled the new title in a hot air balloon that flew over Los Angeles this weekend. “It’s my version of black excellence,” he said. “In my culture, my community, [it was] one of the things that we were often told was the only way we could get out of the circumstances we were put in…[was to Rap or Go to the League].”

On Instagram, he added: “My 5th solo studio album and project that shows continued growth, success, and motivation which is playing a role in the shift of the trap paradigm.”

Rap or Go to the League is due later this year via Def Jam.
