New Music: Young Scooter feat. Young Thug & Future - 'Trippple Cross'

  /  02.08.2018

On the heels of their Super Slimey collaboration, Young Thug and Future team up with Young Scooter on “Trippple Cross,” the title track from the rising rapper’s forthcoming album.

The trap-infused slapper features street-based lyrics from the trio. Scooter brings two verses, Pluto delivers one, and Thugger handles the hook. “I’m not in the industry,” raps Scooter. “I’m in the streets with bricks / In the streets with pounds / Lay your bitch-ass down.”

“It’s important for me to keep working with Thug and Future because they’re behind me a 1,000 percent,” Scotter told Billboard. “I’ve been with Future since we were kids, before rap…Me and Slime met in the streets when I was like 17, 18. His music has always been big in the city; he just didn’t have that major push but now he done took off…It’s good, but at the end of the day ever since I did my first tape, he’s been on every one of them. Plus, we’re in the studio everyday together, us three.”

Trippple Cross, the follow-up to last year’s Juug King mixtape, is set to feature YoungBoy Never Broke Again and additional appearances from Thugger and Hndrxx.

“An example of being triple crossed is if me, you, and another person rob a bank and split a million dollars three ways,” he explained. “If we pull off and switch cars but then we pull over to get gas and I tell you, ‘Go in to pay for the gas,’ and I pull off wit the money, you’ve been triple crossed. But there’s a thousand other ways to be triple crossed — it’s not only in the streets. Businesses triple cross each other everyday.”

Trippple Cross is due Feb. 23.
