What? Okay! Yeah! Lil Jon is back.
Twenty-two years into his platinum plaque-filled career, the renowned crunk legend has returned to show fans that he’s “Alive” and well with a new collaboration featuring Offset and 2 Chainz.
“Thank God that I’m alive,” he screams on the chorus, with his familiar growl. “I’ve been poppin’ all my life / It’s like my birthday every night.”
Offset jumps on the track with a celebration of Migos and a likely nod to Cardi B. “You’re looking at the biggest group,” he raps. “I’m looking at the biggest boobs / Looking at the biggest diamonds that I put up in my mama’s hula hoops.”
Produced by FKi 1st, Lil Jon, and Party Favor, the song also allows 2 Chainz to throw his humorous punchlines in the mix. “Bumpin’ like a canker sore,” he raps. “I told her, ‘Go to hell. Leave your shoes at the door’ / This the life I chose / Ni**a, look at me, I look right on hoes.”
“I PUT OUT MY 1ST SINGLE IN 1996 AND NOW 22 YEARS LATER IM STILL HERE,” said Jon. “CANT WAIT FOR EVERYONE TO HEAR MY LATEST SINGLE ‘ALIVE.'”
In the meantime, Lil Jon is continuing his philanthropic works, donating $70,000 towards two schools in Ghana. “I’m all about helping children,” he told CNN. “Children are our future and every child deserves to have an environment where they can learn and flourish and gain knowledge.”
