It’s about to be a Weezy Christmas. Lil Wayne has just announced Dedication 6, which is set for release on Christmas Day.
Taking to social media, Tunechi revealed the long-awaited release date for his DJ Drama-hosted project, which will be available via DatPiff. “It’s time,” he wrote. “Sign up for updates and music before drop date! To My fans, I do this for y’all! #D6 MERRY CHRISTMAS.”
It’s been over four years since Wayne has released a Dedication mixtape. The last installment, Dedication 5, dropped in September 2013.
The illustrated black, white, and red artwork for D6 features a drawing of Weezy in a Carter V Young Money jacket. A promo tagline on the artwork reads: “Christmas Day.”
Last year, Tunechi confirmed that the project would be on the way. “I’ve also been working on some crazy shit for a mixtape and we just didn’t have a good name for it yet,” he said. “But it might as well just be a Dedication.”
D6 is being unleashed but Tha Carter V remains in limbo. Wayne has said that he will not release the album until his $51 million legal dispute with Cash Money is resolved.
