G-Eazy and Halsey are sleepless in New York in the VHS-inspired video for “Him & I,” the latest single off Gerald’s upcoming album, The Beautiful & Damned.
Directed by G-Eazy and Halsey, the visual offers an intimate look at Gerald and Ashley, who filmed the clip on a recent trip to New York City, according to the video’s opening message.
What follows is a candid look at the power couple. They cuddle, hold hands, lock lips, bite, and caress one another throughout the subways and street corners of the Empire State.
The camera follows Gerald and Ashley nearly everywhere, from fun nights out with friends to quiet nights in the kitchen. They share coffee and laughter, pizza and kisses, all while running through the city that never sleeps.
Recently, G-Eazy opened up about their real life romance. “It clicked,” he said. “I don’t know. I was hella happy and I think that’s everything. Not to be super corny and sentimental, but deadass, I was just hella happy and we clicked really well. As artists, it’s tough to fully understand the world we live in…So, being able to relate and talk like that just as friends too…That feeling inspires you creatively.”
Next, Eazy and Halsey will be performing “Him & I” together on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” (Dec. 12) and “Good Morning America” (Dec. 19). Featuring “Him & I” and the A$AP Rocky and Cardi B-assisted “No Limit,” The Beautiful & Damned and its accompanying film are set to drop Dec. 15.
