FBI Launches Probe Into Meek Mill Judge

The saga continues in Meek Mill’s legal battle. Just one day after the #Justice4MeekMill rally took over the streets of Philadelphia, it’s been revealed that Judge Genece Brinkley, who sentenced the rapper to 2-4 years in prison for probation violations, is being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations, according to Page Six.

Apparently, Judge Brinkley is being probed over possible relationships in Philadelphia, including to a music mogul named Charlie Mack, who Meek Mill worked with early in his career. Meek’s lawyers claim that the judge asked Mill to leave Roc Nation to sign with Mack.

“The feds have an interest in the judge and [her] potential relationships,” said a source. “This is an investigation looking into a possible extortionate demand. Undercover agents have been in the courtroom monitoring the Meek proceedings since April 2016.”

Meek reportedly rejected Judge Brinkley’s alleged suggestion because Mack is a convicted felon and Mill’s probation prohibits associations with convicted felons. Brinkley reportedly said she would make an exception for Mack on the record.

“Mack had previously told Meek how he ‘knows the judge and he could help him with his case,’ ” added the insider. However, Mack denies these claims. “I’ve spent more time talking to you than I ever talked to the judge,” he told Page Six. “There is no conspiracy, Meek is an old friend of 30-plus years.”

Mill’s legal team also alleges that Judge Brinkley asked the Philadelphia rapper to remake Boyz II Men’s “On Bended Knee” with a shoutout to her. If true, this could raise eyebrows since Mack apparently manages the R&B group.

The FBI probe has not been confirmed since the Bureau does not confirm or deny investigations. Brinkley did not respond to questions about the case and Meek’s lawyer Joe Tacopina said, “That is something that I absolutely do not have the ability to comment on.”

Yesterday, Mill’s legal team revealed that they are looking to file a motion to remove Judge Brinkley from the case. They are also hoping to file an official complaint with the judicial conduct board.

Meek Mill turned himself in earlier this month and is currently in solitary confinement.
