Blac Chyna is “serious” about her rap career.

The model-turned-reality television star says that’s precisely what she wants fans to know about her latest endeavor. “I want people to know that I am serious about this,” she told XXL. “I want to show my progression and my growth and whatnot.”

Influenced by the likes of J.Lo, Spice Girls, Linkin Park, JAY-Z, DMX, Drake, and Lil Wayne, Chyna says her new music will feature “a little bit of singing” and “a little bit of rapping.” However, she doesn’t want to classify her work just yet. “I don’t really want to put myself in a box,” she explained. “I just want my stuff to speak for itself. I just want people to not think that I’m just gonna go this one direction. I just want to blow they socks off.”

The idea to launch a music career came to her after she realized that she’d achieved success in other facets of her life. Choosing between going into movies or music became easy due to her connections in the music business. “I’m already around it,” she said. “Most of the people, I already know them anyway so it should be really easy for me. If I need help or if I need mentoring, I could call my friends like French or Nicki or whoever for advice and whatnot. I feel like it’s the right way to go.”

Now, she hopes to collaborate with the likes of Gwen Stefani, Migos, French, Trey Songz, and Rihanna. “Rihanna is queen, of course,” she said. “She’s everything. She’s life. I just really like her style. She’s always been one of those people that shows growth. She’s never sat still and she’s beautiful.”

But most of all, she wants the music to reflect her personality. “My ultimate goal is to, of course, be successful and make sure that everything I do put out reflects myself,” she added. “I don’t want to get caught up in the hype and then I put out something and I’m like, ‘Why did I put this out?’ two years later. I always want it to be about myself, growing, and be all about me.”

Chyna, who says she is looking into label representation now, says she plans on releasing her debut single before the year is over. The album is rumored to feature appearances from Tory Lanez, Yo Gotti, and Rae Sremmurd’s Swae Lee.
