Bruno Mars Performs Bilingual Version of 'Just the Way You Are' at 'One Voice'
Fresh off his whopping eight American Music Awards nominations, Bruno Mars joined a star-studded roster of celebrities at the Puerto Rico benefit concert, “One Voice: Somos Live! A Concert for Disaster Relief.”
With guitar in hand, the multiplatinum star took the stage to perform “Just the Way You Are.” Blending the original version with Spanish, Mars provided a bilingual iteration of his chart-topping 2010 single.
Mars, who is of Puerto Rican descent, delivered the track with a pianist by his side and the Puerto Rican flag behind him. He ended with a balled fist in the air as “Te Amo Puerto Rico” (translated: “I Love You Puerto Rico”) appeared on screen.
In addition to Mars, “Somos Live!” featured performances and appearances by Jennifer Lopez, Stevie Wonder, Marc Anthony, Jamie Foxx, Mary J. Blige, Maxwell, DJ Khaled, and more. Funds from the concert benefitted Feeding America, Save the Children, Habitat for Humanity, Unidos for Puerto Rico, United Way, and UNICEF with the goal of helping those who suffered from natural disasters in Puerto Rico, Mexico, and beyond.
