Cassie is back. After an extended hiatus, the Bad Boy singer reintroduces herself with a self-titled short film.

Soundtracked by her G-Eazy-assisted single “Love a Loser,” the 10-minute visual was shot at various locations throughout the Los Angeles area, including the desert, Chinatown, and Sunset Strip. Cassie oversaw the creative direction, handling the writing, directing, styling, and scoring.

The cinematic clip finds the sexy songstress showing off her acting and modeling talents. Directed by Harrison Boyce and executive produced by Sean “Diddy” Combs, “cassie.” explores her tumultuous relationship with her boyfriend, played by Cristoforo Donadi. While their relationship seems to be picture perfect at first, things takes a turn for the worse.

“It creeps up on you,” she says of love. “Has you do some crazy shit that you would never do, and then it leaves you in the middle of the night.”

Produced by Ben Billions and Danny Boy (Beyoncé, The Weeknd), “Love a Loser” is expected to appear on Cassie’s upcoming album, her first since her 2006 debut. During her visit to Power 106, she revealed that she is “70 percent done” with the project, and has collaborated with Jeremih and KAYTRANADA.

“With this project I just wanted to do something different that wasn’t a generic video,” she said. “I feel like videos are kind of fleeting now.”
