Although he is currently locked behind bars, Kevin Gates isn’t allowing incarceration to stop him from releasing new music. Today, he unveils his latest project in the form of By Any Means 2.

The 14-track effort, a sequel to the 2014 original, follows the release of singles like “What If” and “Beautiful Scars” (featuring PnB Rock). Prior to dropping the mixtape, he also released a letter from prison.

“Disallow yourselves to be troubled in my time of absence,” he wrote to fans. “All of the great ones who came before and will come after me have had to go through this. By this, I’m speaking in reference to hardship.”

Kevin’s wife, Dreka Gates, said that she put the project together in her husband’s absence. “BTW working on Kevin’s new project right now and I’m not going to lie, I’m nervous as F b/c I’m not getting any input from him & he’s fully entrusted me w/everything so there’s a lot of pressure!” she tweeted back in July. “I respect real artists and their artistry and to be making ALL of the decisions is scary but rest assured the music is always fire as F!”
