Hot off the top 5 debut of “Too Good at Goodbyes,” Sam Smith unveils the emotional video for his evocative single.
The Luke Monaghan-directed clip opens with the British crooner in a recording studio, before he takes the show outdoors. From there, Sam sings in front of a piano, before somber and vulnerable scenes of lovers embracing flash across the screen. Smith is included in these montages and is later found reflecting over the city on a park bench.
“Too Good” is the lead single from Smith’s forthcoming sophomore album, the follow-up to his heralded 2014 debut, In the Lonely Hour, which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
In anticipation of his newest work, Smith recently shared an open letter with fans. “Thank you for being so patient and for letting me have the past year to really exam into my mind and write music so freely,” he wrote. “I feel so rejuvenated and have so many stories I can’t wait to tell you.”
