Fresh off her nine BET Hip Hop Awards nominations, Cardi B stopped by “The Breakfast Club” on Friday (Sept. 15) to talk about her success, debut album, and Nicki Minaj.

Although she previously said that her album would drop in October, Bardi seemed less committed to a release date during the interview. “I wanted to drop next month,” she explained. “Every single time I think, ‘I got all the 10 songs,’ I’m like, ‘I’m buggin’. These ain’t it.’ It’s just like, ‘Damn! I’m competing with myself. I’m competing with the goddamn No. 2 record and stuff.'”

However, later in the half-hour interview, she hinted towards “something” dropping next month. “Y’all know I just put the song [‘Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)’] out three months ago,” she said. “Can I work the record? I got something, but can I just put it out when this record just came out? I got something for y’all. I’m gonna drop something in October, but damn!”

Elsewhere, the former “Love & Hip Hop” star was asked about her reported rivalry with Nicki Minaj. “Yeah,” she responded, when the hosts asked if they’ve spoken. When pushed for clarity on their conversation, Bardi changed the topic. “We just conversated, man. That’s it,” she said. “Anyways, y’all, let me tell you about the goddamn ‘Bodak Yellow.'”

When the hosts continued their line of questioning by asking if she was referring to Nicki on G-Eazy’s “No Limit,” Cardi said that those lyrics might have been directed at multiple targets. “People don’t understand,” she said. “I got beef with 10 bitches still in the hood and I still be in the hood.” Later, she was asked if she has a beef with Nicki. “No,” she said. “She ain’t ever fucked my man.”

During the interview, Cardi dished on meeting JAY-Z and Beyoncé, plus a potential collaboration with Remy Ma, her relationship with Offset, and how “that damn Taylor Swift came out of nowhere.”
