Tory Lanez is teaming up with Future for his new single “Real Thing.”
The Toronto crooner took to Instagram to reveal the collaboration and showcase its artwork, which features bold red writing in front of a grey and black backdrop. “I can’t wait till this shit drop,” he said.
“Real Thing” follows Tory and Pluto’s collaboration on “Bad Things (Richmix)” off Zoey Dollaz’ M’ap Boule EP. Lanez also opened for Hndrxx on the “Nobody Safe Tour” earlier this year.
“Real Thing” is believed to be the first single off Lanez’ upcoming sophomore album, the follow-up to his 2016 debut I Told You, which debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
Back in June, Tory revealed that he was “90 percent done” with the project, which he said would be a return to writing after freestyling his last effort. By August, he said that he was clearing artwork and samples. He also called a verse on his new song “Hate to Say” “iconic.”
Although Tory has been providing some play-by-play, he more recently urged fans not to ask him about the LP. “Stop asking me about the album,” he wrote via Instagram. “It’s gone be out soon ! And when it’s out you will appreciate every stitch of time that went into perfecting this … I promise to bring real music back.”
