The Dave East and Chris Brown connection keeps growing. Not only is the duo getting ready to drop a video for “Perfect,” but they have even more collaborations in the stash.
During a recent visit to Rap-Up HQ, the Harlem rapper revealed the big news. “We got another joint,” said East. “Me and Chris got like three records but we got a new joint with me, him, and Kap G that’s coming soon…It’s called ‘Bentley Truck.'”
While fans wait on that collabo, they will be treated to the video for “Perfect,” which Brown co-directed. “The video shoot was dope,” said East. “It was long. Definitely the longest video of my little new career. It was definitely dope with him on the set, seeing how he directs. He was kinda schooling me to the different angles and views of the camera. I learned a lot with him on the set.”
“Perfect,” a single off East’s project Paranoia: A True Story, finds the Mass Appeal MC blindfolded and surrounded by seductive ladies. “The concept is really me and him vibing out,” he said. “Me kinda fighting temptation with different women.”
Not only have the two bonded through music, but fatherhood as well. East has a one-and-a-half-year-old daughter named Kairi, while Breezy is father to Royalty. “He understands what I be going through and I understand what he be going through, as far as being single and having a baby girl and not being with the mom,” he explained. “That, plus the requirements and things you gotta do with the music, traveling and all that, it be tough. I feel like me and him can relate on that level.”
