It’s all in the family. Following up on past collaborations, Taylor Bennett calls on his older brother Chance the Rapper for The Social Experiment-assisted “Gimmie a Call” off his newly-released Throw Aways: Unmixed (1 Week Only) playlist.
“Gimmie a Call” kicks off with Lil Chano singing a cappella, ad-libbing and delivering background vocals for himself. “Gimme a call,” he sings. “Ring on the buzzer, give me a call.”
Greeting his big bro, Taylor delivers his rhymes shortly after. “Ni**as be tweaking, I’m tweakin’ them out,” he brags. “So why I’m the ni**a you tweeting about? / Trashy ass rappers, I’m cleaning them out / Similar reason my phone’s ringing now / Give me a call about nothing at all.”
“Think I’ll just make a free play list on SoundCloud today of some really good tracks I just never got to put out. Just for the real fans,” said Taylor. “allot of never released tracks just 4 you. have fun listen and share. until the album ill hold y’all down.”
Back in March, Taylor spoke with Rap-Up about the possibility of a joint project with his brother, who he previously collaborated with on “Broad Shoulders” and “Grown Up Fairytales.”
“Yeah, we talked about it before,” he revealed. “I think we’re both, right now, doing our thing. But I mean, who knows? Someday, we may get there. Of course, we’ve talked about that a couple of times. I think that it would be an amazing project.”
