Are Kanye West and Kid Cudi working on a top secret joint project?
Insiders say that Yeezy and Cudder are recording a collaborative effort in Japan, where they were recently photographed with famed artist Takashi Murakami, according to Page Six.
“They’re going to drop some crazy collaboration out of the blue,” said a source. “They’re going to drop some surprise project on everybody. They’re recording it now.”

Apparently, no other artist has been invited to these sessions. “Nobody knows what it is — or what it sounds like,” said the insider. “There are no professionals in the room. It’s just Cudi, Kanye, and an engineer.”
Last year, West and Cudi had a public falling out after the latter dissed his mentor on Twitter. “I need yall to know I got so many haters within the industry and these clowns know Im bout to crush their entire existance,” he tweeted. “Everyone thinks they’re soooo great. Talkin top 5 and be having 30 people write songs for them.”
Later, he added: “My tweets apply to who they apply. Ye, Drake, whoever. These ni**as dont give a fuck about me. And they aint fuckin with me. Ni**as keep you close when they see how powerful you are by yourself. When they see your greatness. Out of fear.”
Kanye retaliated onstage during his “Saint Pablo Tour.” “Me and your parents is cool,” he added. “You know how many people wish they could be signed to G.O.O.D. Music, get their life changed? Have that opportunity? Never forget that. I’m so hurt. I feel so disrespected.
“Kid Cudi, we two black men in a racist world. I wore skinny jeans first,” he continued. “I got called names before you, bruh. Why y’all coming at me? This ain’t the end of the Malcolm X movie! I’m out here fighting for y’all: Creatives, artists, independent thinkers. Don’t never mention my name in a bad manner!”
Shortly after their beef ignited, Cudi checked into rehab for depression and suicidal urges. “I just wanna take this time out to say Kid Cudi is my brother and I hope he’s doing well,” said Kanye. “He’s the most influential artist of the past 10 years.” Cudi later thanked his “big bro” for assistance during this dark time in a post-rehab letter. On the heels of this olive branch, Kanye was hospitalized to treat a reported mental breakdown.
Kanye and Cudi have previously collaborated on a slew of songs, including “Welcome to Heartbreak,” “Make Her Say,” “Creepers,” “Gorgeous,” and “Erase Me.”
Aside from this joint project, West has been working on a follow-up to The Life of Pablo, while Cudi recently announced his “Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ Tour.”
