Kid Ink Remixes Kap G's 'Girlfriend'
Hot off the yoga-themed video for “Supersoaka,” Kid Ink unleashes a previously-unheard remix to Kap G’s “Girlfriend.”
According to DJ Ill Will, this remix was lost “last summer at some point.” However, he recently “found it in the vaults” and “decided to share it.”
“I don’t need your bitches, ’cause I got my own / Prince of my city and she’s Apollonia,” raps Kid Ink, before adding a punchline about Cash Money’s boss. “She like the tats on my face like Birdman,” he rhymes. “Now, I stay in my bag, ni**a, Birkins.”
“Girlfriend” is Kap G’s highest-charting song to date, reaching No. 22 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Songs airplay chart earlier this year.
Ink has been having a busy year. Along with the release of his 7 Series EP, the Batgang boss has unveiled a slew of videos, including “F With U” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, “No Strings” with Starrah, “Lottery,” “Mochi,” and the aforementioned “Supersoaka.”
Tomorrow, Ink is set to embark on his “7 Series Asia Mini Tour.” The trek will run from Aug. 8 in Phuket, Thailand through Aug. 12 in Macau, China.
