New Music: Davido feat. Rae Sremmurd & Young Thug - 'Pere'
After teaming up with Wale, R. Kelly, and Tinashe, Davido links up with Rae Sremmurd and Young Thug for his latest single, “Pere.”
The DJ Mustard-produced track opens up with Davido, before flowing into Swae Lee’s “Unforgettable”-like harmonies with their infectious tones. From there, Young Thug and Slim Jxmmi add some of their raunchy flavor to the track.
“Left the club because we’re drunk already,” sings Swae Lee. “Left your car, but you’ll come back and get it / If she did it, then she don’t regret it / Five gold chains and now they think I’m selling.”
The Nigerian star caps it off with a little nod to the “boom-boom pow.” “I just want to make your boom-boom pow,” he sings. “I just want to give you love right now / …Everywhere we go, man, we shut it down / I’ma show you what life about.”
Earlier this year, Davido teamed up with R. Kelly on “If (Remix)” and he joined Olamide on Wale’s “Fine Girl.” Last year, he also linked up with Tinashe on “How Long.”
