Report: Justin Bieber Cancels Tour for Religious Reasons

  /  07.25.2017

Justin Bieber surprised fans by abruptly nixing the remaining dates on his “Purpose World Tour.” Now, questions are being asked about his reasons for the cancellation.

Bieber has cited “unforeseen circumstances” in his official statement and he also claimed exhaustion influenced the decision. However, insiders say he was more influenced by religion, according to TMZ.

Sources from the Hillsong Church say that Bieber cut his tour short because he’s “rededicated his life to Christ.” The pop star has frequently been seen with Hillsong pastor Carl Lentz in recent months. They even attended a large church event in Australia recently. Still, insiders claim that Lentz did not influence the decision.

In a paparazzi interview, Bieber explained his reasons for cancelling the tour, while quieting concerns about the matter. “Everything is fine,” he said. “I’ve been on tour for two years. Just resting and getting some relaxation. We’re gonna ride some bikes.”

When asked about his message to fans, he responded: “I love you guys. I think you guys are awesome. Sorry for anybody who feels disappointed or betrayed. It’s not my heart or anything. Have a blessed day.”

But fans weren’t the only ones disappointed in Bieber’s cancellation. According to TMZ, more than 200 people are out of work due to the decision, with many of them upset and feeling blindsided by the situation.

Crew members reportedly don’t believe Bieber’s exhaustion claims, either. According to sources, the pop crooner recently had a month off in Laguna Beach and Los Angeles, where he apparently played sports and partied during his down time.

Shortly after his remaining “Purpose Tour” dates were scrapped, Bieber issued a statement through his camp. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, Justin Bieber will cancel the remainder of the ‘Purpose World Tour’ concerts,” read the statement. “Justin loves his fans and hates to disappoint them. He thanks his fans for the incredible experience of the ‘Purpose World Tour’ over last 18 months. He is grateful and honored to have shared that experience with his cast and crew for over 150 successful shows across 6 continents during this run. However, after careful consideration he has decided he will not be performing any further dates.”
