Mariah Carey’s life story is coming to Starz.

The pop icon is developing a scripted drama series based on her life, which she will executive produce with Brett Ratner (The Revenant). Nina Colman (Mahogany) has signed on as the show’s writer, show runner, and executive producer.

Set in 1986 New York City, the series will document the rise of Mariah from the age of 16. It will feature some of her real-life experiences on the path to superstardom, according to Deadline.

This is part of a major television push for Carey, who recently starred in and executive produced “Mariah’s World,” a docu-series on E! This year, she is also set to executive produce “All I Want for Christmas,” an animated movie based on her holiday classic.

Outside of television, Mariah recently launched Butterfly MC Records, a new label that will be home to her next studio album. “I am putting my heart and soul into making more new music,” Carey said in April. “I am so thrilled for this next chapter and to continue working with, and for, everyone that I love.”
